ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for brainy comedy night where local scientists will attempt to be funny for their first time ever! Science Riot turns scientists into engaging speakers through immersive training in comedy writing and performance. The resulting showcase is an evening of laughter, learning, and libations where our newest cohort of local experts deliver 10-minute "late-night" comedy talks directly to real-life humans.

***SHOW UPDATE***

Tomorrow night's science-comedy show at the Highland Ballroom is still on (after careful consideration and consulting with experts). We don't take this decision lightly and have ensured that hand-sanitizer and plenty of alcohol will be on-hand.

Our team is paying close attention to public health advisories regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are asking for your support in adhering to common sense social distancing policies:

  • Please do not attend if you or a family member are immunocompromised, have a fever or dry cough, have had contact with anyone affected, or have travelled recently through any affected areas.
  • Please wash your hands thoroughly with soap before attending, and avoid hand contact with others.
  • In lieu of hand-shakes, we're asking everyone to try the CDC-style elbow or shoe bumps (your choice!).
  • If possible, try to leave some seat space between parties.

We will be happy to process all refunds to those who do choose to stay home. In any case, thank you for supporting our brave scientists as they attempt to try comedy for their first time ever!

Sincerely,

The Science Riot team

Doors and full cash bar will be open at 7pm, showtime at 7:30. This show is intended for adult audiences only.

Proceeds from your tickets helps to ensure that this training remains free for science professionals! Science Riot has been featured on NPR’s Here & Now and hosts regular programs in Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Colorado Springs, Denver, and New York City. We believe in the power of humor to connect with broad audiences, make difficult topics accessible, and humanize scientists without undermining the seriousness of their professions.
