ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for brainy comedy night where local scientists will attempt to be funny for their first time ever! Science Riot turns scientists into engaging speakers through immersive training in comedy writing and performance. The resulting showcase is an evening of laughter, learning, and libations where our newest cohort of local experts deliver 10-minute "late-night" comedy talks directly to real-life humans.

Starting at 6:30 pm, NYSCI welcomes ticket holders to enjoy a drink at the bar, which will be outside on the Terrace if the weather permits. Projects by some of NYSCI's 2019 Designers-in-Residence will also on view, and after the show, attendees can grab a bite at the Queens Night Market, located in NYSCI's parking lot.

Proceeds from your tickets helps to ensure that this training remains free for science professionals! Science Riot, recently featured on NPR’s Here & Now, hosts regular programs in Atlanta, Birmingham, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Colorado Springs, Denver, and New York City. We believe in the power of humor to connect with broad audiences, make difficult topics accessible, and humanize scientists without undermining the seriousness of their professions.
