ABOUT ABOUT

Scientists Doing Stand-Up?!

Next Sunday, Sunday, Sunday - six local real-life scientists will attempt comedy for their first time ever!

Join us at Harvard’s historic Brattle Theater for a night of laughter, learning, and libations as our newest cohort of big-brained experts share their expert insight and stage fright.

Hosted by professional comedienne and MIT Alumni, Dhaya Lakshminarayanan.

Science Riot is the first science outreach program in the country to turn scientists into engaging speakers through immersive training workshops in comedy writing and performance. We believe in the power of humor to connect with broad audiences, make difficult topics accessible, and humanize scientists without undermining the seriousness of their professions.

Doors and cash bar open at 7. Showtime at 8. For adult audiences only.

Our inaugural event in Boston takes place in partnership with the Cambridge Science Festival

The Cambridge Science Festival, the first of its kind in the United States, is a celebration showcasing the leading edge in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).  A multifaceted, multicultural event, the Festival makes science accessible, interactive and fun, highlighting the impact of STEAM in all our lives.

Based out of the MIT Museum, we are a tiny team organizing a 10-day, 200+ event festival with a robust group of some of the most intelligent scientists, generous sponsors, creative non-profits, dedicated volunteers, and curious university students in the world.

Please spread the word and RSVP on Facebook. For more information about our unique training program for science professionals, visit: scienceriot.org.
