ABOUT ABOUT

Showtime is Friday, October 15, 2021 at 7:30pm MT

After surviving a crash-course in comedy, a brand-new cohort of scientists will perform their first attempt at stand-up, live from the stage at the historic Denver Press Club! In partnership with the Arkansas Science Festival and the Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival, Science Riot's latest event will feature experts in wildlife ecology, the biomechanics of animal movement, quantum information theory, and noise in superconducting quibits--we don't know what that last one is, but we're ready to find out!

Science Riot takes real-life scientists and teaches them how to do stand-up comedy about their real-life jobs. All presenters are full-time STEM-field practitioners, researchers, and academics who are making their inaugural attempt at using comedy to share the behind-the-scenes secrets of science. It's a wild ride as we watch these brave folks bringing their hidden work out into the public--one joke at a time!

Limited numbers of tickets are available for the in-person event. The venue requires proof of vaccination for all attendees. We are also offering a remote-viewing option through YouTube livestream for those who cannot attend in person. If you purchase the remote option, you will receive an email shortly before the event with the link to attend on YouTube. Please be sure that you are purchasing the ticket for the attendance option that you prefer. Livestream ticket sales will close 1 hour before the event.

Our hybrid event will feature live, interactive presentations from scientists both in-person on the Denver Press Club stage and beamed in from their home bases in order to comply with all COVID safety protocols. Audience numbers will be limited to comply with all public health regulations. We encourage all eligible fans to get the COVID vaccine as soon as possible. If public health guidelines are updated to prevent in-person audiences, we will reschedule or move to a fully-remote experience, TBD as the situation develops.
